Compliance · Governance standard
SEO methods can improve decisions; they cannot guarantee search or business outcomes.
The standard prohibits promises of rankings, indexing, traffic, links, citations, SERP features, leads, sales, revenue, savings, or return and defines the language that may be used instead.
Semantec SEO No-Guarantee Standard
The standard states what must happen, who owns the decision, what evidence is required, and what blocks release.
Prohibited outcome promises
Do not state or imply that MIRENA, Semantec SEO, a workflow, page, prompt, schema type, internal link, or content change will guarantee a ranking, crawl, index, citation, snippet, rich result, traffic level, backlink, lead, sale, revenue, saving, conversion, or return.
External systems decide independently
Search engines, AI answer systems, users, customers, clients, OpenAI, WordPress, hosting, payment, access, and other providers make decisions or change systems outside Semantec SEO's control.
Eligibility, technical correctness, and quality can improve a page's position without creating a right to a result.
Approved outcome language
| Avoid | Use instead |
|---|---|
| Will rank number one | Designed to improve page ownership, relevance, and review quality |
| Guarantees featured snippets | Formats a visible answer for a relevant result type; selection remains platform-controlled |
| Gets cited by AI | Improves source clarity, evidence, and passage structure; citation is not promised |
| Drives traffic and sales | Creates a clearer route from query to page and action; traffic and sales depend on external factors |
| Fixes SEO automatically | Produces an evidence-led plan or draft that still requires review and implementation |
| Schema earns rich results | Creates accurate structured-data candidates; eligibility and display remain separate |
Case studies and historical results
A real past result may be reported only with permission, source, baseline, period, method, scope, attribution, and limitations.
A past result is not a forecast. The page should identify material differences between the observed context and a reader's situation.
Pricing and value claims
A subscription price describes access. It does not prove value, savings, revenue, productivity, payback, or return.
If a time or cost comparison is published, its method, inputs, assumptions, exclusions, and applicable workflow must be visible.
Sales and CTA review
High-commitment CTAs must not appear immediately after an unsupported promise. Product fit, exclusions, platform requirements, price, renewal, cancellation, refund policy, and review responsibility should be available before purchase.
MIRENA output
Generated wording inherits this standard. A user should not use MIRENA to create guaranteed-results copy, fabricated proof, fake scarcity, misleading forecasts, or deterministic rank predictions.
A human reviewer remains responsible for every final claim.
Correction and enforcement
A prohibited guarantee is removed or qualified promptly, and related pages, ads, emails, comparisons, structured data, screenshots, and support scripts are checked.
Repeated or deliberate guarantee language may block publication or commercial use.
Controlling guidance and first-party records.
The standard uses current source material but does not convert platform guidance into a ranking guarantee.
