Compliance · Governance standard

Use the source that owns the fact and preserve its exact scope.

The standard covers source hierarchy, currentness, quotations, data, legal and platform sources, conflicts, derived claims, links, archived evidence, and provenance records.

Governance standard

Semantec SEO Source, Citation, and Provenance Standard

The standard states what must happen, who owns the decision, what evidence is required, and what blocks release.

01 · Start with the owner

Source hierarchy

Use canonical first-party records for Semantec SEO identity, MIRENA product facts, price, policies, and support. Use current official provider documentation for OpenAI, Stripe, Authflow.ai, Google, WordPress, and other external systems.

Use legislation, regulators, standards bodies, or authoritative public guidance for legal, privacy, accessibility, consumer, and technical standards.

02 · Map the exact assertion

Claim-to-source mapping

A citation must support the exact claim, not merely the broad topic. Record the statement, relevant passage or field, source owner, publication or observation date, market, version, and limitation.

Do not cite one part of a source for a stronger conclusion found nowhere in the record.

03 · Preserve time

Currentness and effective dates

Current pricing, product capabilities, platform rules, law, policy, providers, and availability require current verification. Historical sources may support historical claims when clearly dated.

A page's updated date does not refresh an older source.

04 · Choose by claim class

Source classes

Preferred source by claim
Claim Preferred source Secondary use
Company or founder identity Canonical first-party entity page Public professional profile as corroboration
MIRENA capability Current product and documentation record Screenshot only with date and state
Price or subscription Live pricing, checkout, order confirmation, terms Older page only as historical evidence
Law and consumer rights Legislation, regulator, official authority Reputable commentary for explanation only
OpenAI or ChatGPT Current OpenAI policy and help documentation News coverage for context only
Search platform rule Current official platform documentation Industry analysis for observation and debate
Performance or result First-party measurement record with method and owner Testimonial only for the speaker's experience
Comparison fact Current source for each option Reviewer observation clearly labelled
05 · Quote narrowly

Quotations and copyright

Use short quotations only when the exact wording matters, preserve context, identify the speaker or publisher, and link to the source where appropriate.

A citation does not grant permission to reproduce a protected article, image, table, database, or large passage.

06 · Keep conflict visible

Conflicting sources

Do not average or silently choose between conflicting identity, price, feature, policy, or legal sources. Record the conflict, scope, date, authority, and owner.

Hold the claim or use qualified wording until the controlling source is resolved.

07 · Show the transformation

Derived and calculated claims

A calculation, score, classification, or comparison must identify the source values, formula, units, date, assumptions, missing values, and rounding.

A model inference is labelled as analysis and must not be presented as direct source evidence.

08 · Preserve provenance

Links and archived evidence

A source link should resolve to the authoritative page and use descriptive text. When a source changes materially, preserve a lawful archive, screenshot, or internal evidence record if needed for an historical or dispute record.

Do not use an inaccessible source as the only public support for a material claim when a current accessible source is available.

09 · Verify the source

MIRENA-assisted research

MIRENA can help identify, classify, summarise, and map sources, but a reviewer must open and verify the material used for a material claim.

A generated citation, title, quotation, or URL is not accepted until it resolves and supports the exact statement.

10 · Respond to source change

Correction and withdrawal

When a source is corrected, withdrawn, retracted, expires, or becomes unavailable, trace every dependent claim and choose replace, qualify, date, remove, hold, or preserve as historical.

Sources

Controlling guidance and first-party records.

The standard uses current source material but does not convert platform guidance into a ranking guarantee.
